Freelance Writer
with a psychology and mental health background

Psychology is to me what Melquíades’ manuscripts were to José Arcadio Buendía: a source of great fascination, mystery, and haunting.
That might be why I’ve spent my adult life immersed in the subject and everything that connects to it – from neuroscience to philosophy, spirituality and ecology.
After studying psychology at the University of London, I spent many years working in the mental health sector, taking on various roles while also training in alternative therapies such as yoga, meditation, and hypnosis.
In 2019, I earned a master’s degree in mental health and psychotherapy and subsequently worked as an assistant psychologist for the NHS in England.
Since 2021, I’ve specialised in writing and editing for psychology websites, wellness brands, charities, businesses, and other clients globally.
I use my extensive background in psychology and content writing to help my clients communicate and connect with their audience.
My mission is to engage, educate, and empower through impactful writing.
While my primary occupation is freelance writing and editing, I continue to offer hypnosis and mindfulness training to select clients.
So, if you’re looking for an experienced writer who understands both mental health and content creation, contact me to find out how we can collaborate:
Mental Health Professional Experience
Hypnotherapist and Meditation Teacher
I create and record hypnosis and meditation scripts designed to support individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, phobias, and self-harm behaviours. I apply hypnosis and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques, deliver psychoeducation, and teach meditation and breathing practices to individuals and groups.
Assistant Psychologist and Researcher at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust
I collaborated with the Clinical Director on a research paper exploring “red flags” for offenders within the Pathways Enhanced Resettlement Service and provided therapeutic support to prisoners with personality disorders. I also led diversity and inclusion audits, presenting key findings to the clinical team, and conducted psychological, risk, and cognitive assessments under the supervision of a Consultant Forensic Psychologist.
Co-Production and User Involvement Manager at Mind Hammersmith and Fulham
I oversaw the implementation of the project in Hammersmith and Fulham and expanded the project into Ealing. I managed a busy workload, line-managed three project workers, and chaired stakeholder meetings, including a service user steering group. My role also involved:
- Conducting research to evaluate the quality of mental health care across community and in-patient settings through focus groups, interviews, and case studies
- Preparing monthly reports for leadership to identify challenges and propose solutions
- Co-developing outreach campaigns and materials
- Co-creating and facilitating training sessions for both service users and providers
- Producing monthly newsletters
- Leading the creation of a quarterly magazine featuring interviews, stories, and informational content to raise awareness of mental health issues
Community Recovery Worker for Hestia, Hounslow
I co-designed, managed, and facilitated community-based activity groups in collaboration with service users, providing tailored support through comprehensive risk assessments and individual support plans.
Mental Health Assistant at Alpha Hospital (now Cygnet)
I provided therapeutic support to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1987) in a low-secure hospital setting, helping them work toward recovery and reintegration through evidence-based psychological interventions.
